My wife and I had a walking tour with Tony and a small group and learned first hand about the early human history and ecology of this unique and beautiful area in the west of Ireland. Tony is truly well versed on the science and presents a most comprehensive and interesting first hand look through his hike into this important and inspiring landscape. We certainly would encourage anyone visiting this region to take a stroll with him.

We enthusiastically recommend Tony Kirby as a guide to the Burren. He is immensely knowledgeable and passionate on the subject, and engaging in his presentation. His prepared material was impressive, and he had informative answers to every one of our many questions. Tony’s guided walks start at the interpretative center in Kilfenora. We would have missed so much of the geology, botany, history, agriculture and anthropology of the Burren without Tony’s guidance.

We really enjoyed the walk (and talk) on Saturday afternoon. It was a great introduction to the Burren for my friends and even with being familiar with the area myself I was surprised how much I learnt!!
Am looking forward to trying out some of the walks in your book also.

I want to thank you again for the wonderful tour of the Burren with my group in June. Each and every woman enjoyed you and your wisdom and poetry and told me (as the group did last year) that it was one of the major highlights of the tour. Our bus driver, John, enjoyed it as well and said it was a great way to finish the journey (we spent our last full day in Ireland with you).

Sue and I enjoyed our afternoon with you in the Burren National Park immensely. Thank you for a fabulous experience. Your passion for this most unusual topographic and environmental area is easy to understand. The complexity of the flora and fauna in an area of so much precipitation amidst rocky outcroppings is suprisingly enormous.
Best wishes,
Leonard
