FULL DAY GUIDED WALK – SATURDAY
Description Burren Coast Walk route includes the famous waymarked trail of the Burren Way, the pass between the two great limestone hills of Gleninagh and Cappanawalla and the Black Head green road overlooking Galway Bay Distance is 14 kilometres.
Grade – moderate. Duration – 5 hours approx.
Highlights Panoramic trail with vistas of Galway Bay, Connemara, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and the majestic, rocky Burren itself. Artic/Alpine/Mediterranean wildflower melange. Limestone pavements. Monuments include medieval castles, ring forts and holy wells.
HALF DAY GUIDED WALK – SUNDAY MORNING
Description The walk takes place in the Burren National Park – one of the last great uncontaminated landscapes in Ireland. It includes the modest ascent of one of Ireland’s most eccentrically shaped hills Mullaghmore (200 metres).
Grade – moderate. Duration – 3 Hours.
Highlights World famous Burren mélange of wildflowers from the Alps, Artic and Mediterranean, a famine relief road, herds of feral goats, a seasonal lake (Turlough), stunning wallscapes, dry stone walls and the Mullaghmore summit with its vistas of the north of the Burren, East Clare and South Galway.
Please do bring walking boots with ankle support, waterproofs and rucksack.
