“Monks and Pilgrims in the Burren Landscape”.
A half-day long walk at an easy pace with the high point being the visit to a remarkable monastic site and pilgrimage station. Highlights will include a rich complex of penitential stations, holy wells, rare reliquary shrines and an Early Medieval chapel with subsequent Romanesque ornamentation. The narrative will focus on the golden age of Irish art (400-1100 AD), the story of pilgimage in Ireland and the enduring fascination of holy wells as places of public worship. Stone, soil, soul, saints, sinners, pilgrims, poetry, penitents and purgatory feature!

I’m so glad that I decided to write to you before I left for Ireland to arrange for a tour with you. Experiencing the Burren with someone who has so much knowledge and reverence for the land was a special treat for all of the women in our group. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Ireland.

Our Spirituality walk with Tony in June was excellent. Tony was an excellent guide – nice, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any and all questions for our varied group. We had a great time and would love to book another walk with him next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed the spirituality walk to Eagle’s Rock and the kids had no problem keeping up. There were all sorts of of interesting bits of information that brought that area of the Burren alive for us. Going for a walk in the Burren is always lovely but taking one of Tony’s guided walks is a different experience entirely. I definitely recommend it!
We thoroughly enjoyed the spirituality walk to Eagle’s Rock and the kids had no problem keeping up. Hi Tony. I really enjoyed your Spirituality themed walk on Sunday, Oct 10th in the Burren. It was a lovely mix of information from the geology and environmental aspect to the historical / spiritual aspect. It is great to have someone who can combine the lot and open our eyes to what our landscape itself can teach us.

I had a great morning doing Tony’s Eagles Rock Burren Spirituality walk. Tony was an excellent guide and brought the landscape alive with his knowledge on all aspects of the walk: the rocks and hills , the flowers & trees, the old customs and the wells, the local farming and history, the legends and the saints – and of course the poetry recitals!
