Next Spirituality Walk takes place on Saturday morning 11th September. For more detail, please see SPIRITUALITY WALKS
FARM WALKS
The farm walks celebrate the rich and ancient tradition of low-intensity farming in the region. They are recognition also of the intricate link between sympathetic farming practices and the wealth of the area’s heritage. The guided walks takes place on a family farm which is in essence an exceptional example of conservation farming and sustainable living.
SPIRITUALITY WALKS
Stone Age and Bronze Age farmers heavily ritualized the Burren in prehistory with their great stone structures. The large archaeological legacy from these times is eloquent testimony of the sacredness of the landscape. The Early Christian period in its turn was marked by a wave of construction of sites of worship. In fact the Burren is said to be home to the greatest concentration of ecclesiastical sites in Ireland. Right to this day the elemental and unworldly look and feel of the region attract people looking for harmony. The spirituality walks are a homage to our ancestors and their intimate rapport with the stone, soil and soul of the region.

This was a spirituality walk that combined a respectful warmth and humour towards the landscape, it’s flora and unique architecture, and the myths and history that it abounds in. The pace was gentle enough for the unfit like myself and for children, but always engaging and encouraging towards learning more during our time together (including discovering the grace of a slow worm!). Finding the lovely stone ruins where the hermitage is hidden in a magical green and mossy hazel and ash copse, complete with holy well, was the final blessing in a memorable and enlightening excursion.
Thank you, Tony.

The spirituality walk was a wonderful way to discover the Burren. It was delightful to see so many Irish tourists in the group. Not only did we learn a lot from our guide Tony, (across a variety of subjects I might add!), he gleaned as much information from the staycationers as the vacationers through his wit and banter. This made for an inclusive, informative and thoroughly enjoyable morning on the Burren.
Thanks.
